Daily Market Report - 11 August 2026

  • Wall Street ended lower as expectations for a US-Iran deal faded, raising concerns over disruptions to global oil supplies again.
  • Diminishing hopes for a resolution fuelled a rally in energy prices, with the Brent crude surging to almost the USD88.00 per barrel.
  • Meanwhile, the US 10-year yield edged higher to 4.713%.
  • Over in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index (HSI) closed higher, supported by
    reduced expectations of a near-term Federal Reserve rate hike following Friday's softer-than-expected U.S. jobs data.
  • Back home, the FBM KLCI ended marginallylower as the index continued to consolidate, with selling pressure in selected heavyweights. For today, we expect the benchmark index to trade within the 1,730–1,740 range, while maintaining a cautiously positive bias
