Get Ready for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Stronger protection for your account is coming soon.
We are enhancing your login security with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Once MFA is launched, you will be required to register it via the iSPEED.my app. A one-time OTP will be sent to your registered email address to complete the MFA registration.
Here’s everything you need to prepare ahead of time.
What is MFA & Why It Matters?
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra verification step to ensure that only you can access your account. You will be prompted for MFA when:
- Setting up MFA for the first time (verification code will be sent to your registered email address).
- Logging in from a new or unrecognized device.
- Logging in to your RT account via Web.
MFA protects your account from unauthorized access and device compromise.
It adds a stronger, industry-standard layer of protection – just like what you experience with other banking and financial apps.
What You Need Before MFA Setup?
To register MFA, make sure you have the following ready:
- A valid registered email address: To receive your A one-time OTP code. Make sure your email address is correct and accessible.
- The latest iSPEED.my app installed

- Log in to your Rakuten Trade account
- You will be prompted to set up MFA
- A one-time verification code (OTP) will be sent to your registered email
- Enter the code (OTP) and complete setup
- MFA is now bound to your device
After setup, web logins and logins from a new or unrecognized device will trigger MFA through your registered mobile device.

Frequently Asked Questions :
- Do I need a verification code every time I log in?
No. You will only receive a one-time code via email during MFA setup. After setup, MFA will be verified through your registered device (for Web login or new devices).
2. What happens if I don’t update my email or install the latest iSPEED.my app?
You will not receive the one-time MFA setup code, and MFA registration cannot be completed. Without MFA, you cannot log in or trade once MFA goes live.
3. I forgot my username or password — what should I do?
Use Forgot Username/Password on Web or the iSPEED.my app. If you still cannot access your account, please contact our Customer Service team at +603-2110 7110 or email to customerservice@rakutentrade.my
4. I didn’t receive the MFA setup code and can’t log in to check my email. What should I do?
Contact our Customer Service team for assistance at +603-2110 7110 or email to customerservice@rakutentrade.my. They will help you check and update your registered email address so you can proceed with MFA setup.
5. Why can’t I remove a registered device immediately?
For security reasons, you can only remove a device 24 hours after your last successful device action. This waiting period helps prevent unauthorized changes to your MFA device.
6. What if I don’t have a smartphone?
You may request MFA exclusion via our Customer Service team at +603-2110 7110. Please note that accounts without MFA will have reduced security and may carry a higher risk of unauthorized access.
7. I didn’t receive any notification on my iSPEED.my app when trying to log in on Web or another device. What should I do?
Check that notifications for the iSPEED.my app are enabled in your device settings. If notifications are turned off, you won’t receive any MFA login notification. Once enabled, you should receive MFA notifications for future logins.
8. I want to uninstall and reinstall the iSPEED.my app on the same phone. What should I do?
Before uninstalling the app, please unregister your device in the app. After reinstalling, you will need to complete the MFA registration again. If you encounter any issues, please contact our customer service team for assistance.
